Alexey A. Maschan became one of the first scientists who introduced hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in children and described clear indications for this type of therapy. He formed a unified approach to the diagnosis and treatment of hematological diseases in children. On the scientific basis, Professor Maschan created a new paradigm for transplantations of hematopoietic stem cells in children, which made it possible to improve results.

His research interests are: acute leukemia, chronic myeloid leukemia, bone marrow insufficiency syndrome, molecular genetics and experimental therapy.
