Sergei A. Rumyantsev conducts research in the field of normal and pathological hematopoiesis, molecular hematology, biological properties of hematopoietic stem cells and the possibility of their modeling, diagnosis and treatment of hematological, oncological and immunological diseases in children and adolescents, nanobiotechnology and cellular pharmacology.

Professor Rumyantsev research interests lie in the field of normal and pathological hematopoiesis, molecular hematology, biological properties of hematopoietic stem cells and their modeling, diagnostics and treatment of hematological, oncological and immunological diseases in children and teens, nanobiotechnology and cell pharmacology. For several years he has been supervising development of cell technologies for storage and processing of umbilical cord and peripheral blood cells, bone marrow for transplantation in clinical practice. Doctor Rumyantsev has created a new field of medical science integrating clinical medicine, molecular hematology, molecular genetics, cell biology, cell biophysics, biochemistry, nanobiotechnology.

He has published more than 300 scientific papers, including 15 monographs, 51 publications in journals of the international citation databases (Web of Science, Scopus, PubMed, etc.), 6 patents.
